Made my daughter bard doors to her custom wall unit dresser / closet.
My first quad-matched mahogany coffee table top. I mitered cherry edges around this piece. I done a second one with a quad book-match set of black walnut again surrounded in cherry. A third one I did was with a mappa burl center with smoked eucalyptus border. The finished pieces were done with epoxy which you […]
Wanted to try something completely new so I started with making legs, curved legs not my style but had fun working on them. Reclaiming an antique walnut board and transforming it into a new end table. I wanted to add a touch of cherry so I decided to do a lamination of the walnut surrounding […]
We had a dumb closet in the hallway with the 12″ door and it was always jammed pack with junk that was a complete waste of space, even if you wanted something it was a nightmare trying to find it even if you could. So it was time to recover this great space that was […]
This month has been the month of boxes, it started with the need to use up scraps of wood from my furniture projects (operation no scrap left behind) and is quickly becoming an obsession. Here are a bunch of boxes which is all been created from reclaimed vintage lumber. All boxes are varieties of laminated […]
Completely used all resources that where either reclaimed or re-milled from a milled cherry tree. All cherry is from the trees on my yard that was used for the dinning room table project most of which was scrapes only the counter top was build from a new slab I had to re-mill and join. Hand […]
Build with a very old piece of walnut that I recovered. I assembled this table top for Alfredo, He is the owner of SuperNacho in Goshen NY, www.supernachogoshen.com the King of fish tacos! [rl_gallery id=”316″]
Project resources being used from “Cherry trees back from the mill!“ So the journey begins! This has not been easy but a great learning experience working with milled trees. Especially working with cherry, not a easy wood to begin with which I learned, but easy is not the way I roll! scraping the final finish […]
Two nice stacks of cherry planks and a bunch of random sizes from the smaller sections of the tree’s tops, wow this is exciting! The above image is all the milled & remilled lumber for the dinning table. First stank of planks is all the pieces for the table top, and the other stacks are […]
Pop and I taking down two old cherry trees that died years ago next to the chicken coop before they came down by themselves. I’m seeing a new dinning room table in my near future, hope my expectations aren’t to high.
Finding a triple heart in a slice off a Yew log I saw a great opportunity to make this cross pendant for a friend.
Well my better half really wanted a bar unit from a catalog she saw but it wouldn’t fit in the space we had for it nor did we wanted to spend the money on it. They wanted over $300. So 6 – 2X6’s and 14 hours later (basically a weekend project) we had a improved […]
Ok after all the shelving was finished time to work on the storage unit for the floor. Here are some photos of the piece created. along with the whole finished area after everything was finished and put in place.
Finally getting to throw out the garbage big box store entertainment system we lived with for way to long! This is the before shot for the room: Here are some shots of during and after the first 7 shelves where created. This project only required 2 sheets of 1/2″ birch plywood, wood glue and a […]
Another gloomy day so being bored and not wanting to watch TV, I had a idea to give leaf carving a try. Here is my first attempt to carve a oak leaf into the handle of a oak wooden spoon.
I wanted to test out making a small basic shelving unit. Before tackling a larger entertainment system. Having a bunch of very old scrapes of some softwood planks that have been laying around for decades I decided to finally use them for this project.
Needed a lamp that would be nice ambient light for our deck. Having some seasoned pressure treated lumber scraps from a pool deck project that I helped a friend with was the perfect opportunity to use these scrapes. One lamp was created to sit on deck post, and one lamp was made to be post […]
Had two ax heads from last season that where laying around that got broken. Now having a nice piece of seasoned cedar branch I figured I would see how it would work for these. Not investing much time in these a couple hours later now have two functional hatchets again.
The photo says it all, this is a great way to use a scrape piece of wood to make our common small tools a reach away. Use your imagination and you can find a lot of ways to use this idea.
